You and your employer will jointly select and negotiate training arrangements with a Registered Training Organisation, including the completion and signing of a Training Plan. Your employer must enrol you with the Registered Training Organisation within one month of you starting your Australian Apprenticeship.
A Training Plan outlines a schedule for the delivery of the individual competencies you are to achieve during your Australian Apprenticeship, both with the Registered Training Organisation and on-the-job at work. The Training Plan is to be agreed upon by you, your employer and the Registered Training Organisation.
At the end of your Australian Apprenticeship, you will become competent in a range of skills in your occupation or trade, and you will receive a nationally recognised qualification.
If you have had some previous training or other work experience, it may be possible to demonstrate that you already have competencies in some skill areas. You may be able to apply for recognition of your prior learning or current competency and reduce the length of your Australian Apprenticeship. Contact your Registered Training Organisation for further details.
You may also be eligible to apply for some of the financial support available under the Australian Apprenticeships program. Pl see financial support for Australian Apprentices or contact Jobs Plus.
