How do i find a Traineeship or Apprenticeship?

There are over 500 occupations available under the Traineeship and Apprenticeship Program.  Not all trainee positions are advertised under the Traineeship and Apprenticeship program.  Your first priority is to find a job. If the job you find is not under the Traineeship program and you want to gain a Recognised National qualification, discuss this with your employer as it is possible to commence training under the Traineeship program.

If you and your prospective or existing employer want more information regarding the Traineeship and Apprenticeship program, contact us today.

Tips on finding employment

When you begin your job search, think of all the people you know – relatives, friends, professors, classmates, and co-workers. You should make an effort to meet these people and ask them for their advice and take the opportunity to let them know that you are currently looking for a  job. A lot of jobs do not get advertised because most can be filled by recommendations from existing employees, so do not be shy of letting everyone know about the kind of work you are after.

Canvassing employers

Direct contact (by telephone, or in person)
This job search method involves you contacting the employer who has the ability to hire you. Remember if you decide to go via this route, you will need to provide evidence of how you will be an asset to the company.

The phone directoryor local trade/community publications may be a good resource for assisting with identifying employers that you may want to approach.

Job Services Australia

Job Services Australia are agencies that provide support for people looking for work. This includes providing support to job seekers in the following: job searching, resume writing, interview techniques, telephone techniques and many more.

Group Training Companies

Job Searching  websites

Job Search  websites are the ultimate way of searching for jobs online. Most have alert features, where-by a job description fitting your ideal job can be emailed to you directly. You can also upload your resume and cover letters so that prospective employers can view them.  Below are three of the most commonly used Job Searching Websites.
